Wedgwood, King County
Air duct cleaning in Wedgwood starts at $525. What moves the final figure is the tally of supply and return openings, whether one furnace or two feeds them, and how easily we can get at the trunk lines. We walk the house and count registers with you first, so the price is tied to a list instead of to square footage alone.

The land under Wedgwood's first plat was woods until 1940. Forty acres had belonged to the Jesuits of Seattle University since 1929; Albert Balch bought the tract and filed his plat the following year. Houses of that generation have had time to go through several heating systems, and each replacement furnace was usually hung on whatever ductwork was already in the crawl space or basement.
The Census asks each household for its main heating fuel. In ZIP area 98115, where Wedgwood is tabulated, 48.8 percent of households answer electricity and 43.5 percent answer utility gas, while 5.8 percent, roughly 1,390 homes, still burn fuel oil. That oil share is the second highest among North Seattle ZIP areas, behind 98117 at 7.9 percent and far above 98103 at 1.3 percent.
Fuel is not the same thing as distribution, and the survey says nothing about ducts. A gas or oil furnace that blows warm air has them; a boiler or baseboard system does not. With the median home in this ZIP area dated to 1962, a duct system that serves a furnace may be a good deal older than the furnace. When a house has moved from oil to gas, we look in particular at the return side near the old furnace position, where residue from the earlier equipment tends to remain.
Every air duct cleaning we do in Wedgwood includes:
Smoke coming back into the room, or a smell that won't go? Book the inspection first.
Book nowDucts that outlive two or three furnaces collect more than household dust. Renovation debris, insulation fibers and the residue of an earlier fuel settle in the low spots of the return side. None of it shows from the living room. What owners notice is a film on the registers, a dusty smell when the blower starts in October, or filters that load up faster than they should.
Registers, returns and furnaces are listed, and a camera looks into the main trunk so you see the starting condition.
A large vacuum is connected at the trunk so that loosened dust moves toward the collector, not into the rooms.
Brushes and air whips work from every register back to the trunk, one run at a time.
Access points are sealed, registers go back, and you compare the after photos with the before set.

Choose a genuine opening on the crew's calendar. Confirmation is immediate.
Liner, crown, cap, flashing and masonry examined in order — each finding photographed.
One document, plain numbers, covering only the work your chimney genuinely needs.
The repair is completed, then handed over with before-and-after photos of every item.
Probably not for heating. Electric baseboards and hot-water systems move no air. We confirm what you have during the walk-through before quoting, so nobody pays for a service the house does not need.
The blower compartment and the accessible cabinet are vacuumed. Burner service and combustion testing belong to a heating contractor.
Half a day for a typical single-furnace house. With two systems, or with ducts run through a cramped crawl space, plan on the full day.
