In King County we work inside one city only, Seattle, and in ten of its neighborhoods north of the Ship Canal. Ballard runs from the canal up to NW 85th Street with Shilshole Bay along its west side. Fremont and Wallingford look south over the canal and Lake Union. Phinney Ridge rises between Aurora Avenue N and 8th Avenue NW, and Green Lake fills the ground from the ridge's east slope across to Interstate 5. Greenwood straddles N 85th Street, where Seattle ended before the annexation of 1954, and Northgate lies wholly north of that old line. Maple Leaf begins on the far side of the freeway from Green Lake; Ravenna, with its ravine park, and Wedgwood, first platted between NE 80th and NE 85th streets, complete the northeast.
