A cap earns its keep in this climate through repetition. Between 1986 and 2012 the Sand Point station in northeast Seattle saw something measurable fall on roughly 158 days of the average year. Half an inch arrived on only about 20 of them, a full inch on about 4. Rain here is frequent and light.
